M.A.Y I
Morrisville Activities For Youth Involvement (or otherwise known as 'MAYI' for short) is a brand new group out of Morrisville, NY.

Madison County's Promise's Youth Development Committee had been focusing on working with the Morrisville Community to develop some fun activities for youth there to do afterschool or in their free time. Morrisville, while being a beautiful rural town, does not have a great deal to offer to youth in the community. Downtown consists of a pizzeria, movie rental store, a library, and several small shops.

During a meeting of the Youth Development Committee, it was suggested that perhaps the youth could have something in the town like Cazenovia's Project Cafe.
The Morrisville Public Library is also buying the building next door to the library and creating a coffeehouse also similar to Project Cafe.
A group of interested youth got together and polled their peers at local area schools as to what sort of activities they would like to see available. With the assistance of various Caring Adults, they recently presented their findings and have decided to become M.A.Y I - a group of youth that will pursue this project.

Currently, MAYI meets after school on Tuesdays at Morrisville-Eaton Central School, and has occasional meetings with the Youth Development Committee for technical assistance.
The group recently held their first event, a Block Party in Morrisville, that was a success (see pictures above).
