Cost: This workshop is presented at no cost to participants courtesy of the Coordinated Children’s Services Initiative and the Central New York Regional Interagency Team. Special thanks to Catholic Charities of Broome County, the Broome County Health Department and the Broome County Youth Bureau for site coordination, catering arrangements and registration.
Description: This workshop presents key lessons in dealing with individuals from poverty and examines the differences between generational poverty and situational poverty. It offers proven tools that can be used immediately to improve the quality of interactions and interventions that can result in successful and long lasting client transitions to self-sufficiency. Participants will learn about the differences in economic cultures and how those differences can affect opportunities for success.

From Elmira: Take Route 17 to Binghamton (Exit 72 - Front Street) and turn right at the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp onto Front Street (Route 11 South). Proceed down Front Street. From this point proceed to second traffic light. Broome County Health Department will be on your right.
From New York City: Take Route 17 West to interchange of Routes 17 and 81. Bear right to stay on highway (Route 17 and 81 merge into one for approximately four miles). Stay on 81 North at the split and take the first exit (Exit 5 – Broome Community College). Turn left at the traffic light at the end of the ramp onto Front Street (Route 11 South). Stay in the right lane and proceed to the next traffic light. Change to the left lane after the traffic light. Proceed down Front Street through three more traffic lights. The Broome County Health Department is on the right at the third traffic light.
From Scranton: Take Route 81 North to Exit 5 (Broome Community College). Turn left at the traffic light at the end of the ramp onto Front Street (Route 11 South). Stay in the right lane and proceed to the next traffic light. Change to the left lane after the traffic light. Proceed down Front Street through three more traffic lights. From Syracuse: Take Route 81 South to Exit 5 (Broome Community College). Turn left at the traffic light at the end of the ramp onto Front Street (Route 11 South).
